It’s so important to let young children explore a wide variety of fine motor activities.
The point behind such activities is to allow children to work the small muscles in their fingers and hands. As I mentioned above . . . it’s kind of like a workout for those little muscles.
Those little muscles are what we use when we’re writing, typing, manipulating things like buttons, etc.
So fine motor activities help children practice and become successful in a variety of learning areas.
Low-Prep Free Printable Easter Fine Motor Strips
These Easter fine motor strips are a great invitation to play and learn.
They’re fun and engaging. AND they’re super low-prep. Which counts for a win in my book.
You can place them in your fine motor or literacy center. Or send them home so the kids can keep busy while their parents are making Easter dinner.

Materials for the Printable Easter Activity
You don’t need much for this activity, but here are a few things you might want on-hand:
Mini erasers (or loose parts like glass gems)
Again, you don’t need all of these materials. The printer is a must, of course. But you can choose if you want to use scissors, mini erasers, loose parts, or dry erase markers . . . or any combination thereof.
Prepping the Free Printable Easter Strips
The main step in getting this activity ready is to print the Easter fine motor strips.
That’s about it.
If you want, go ahead and cut them apart into individual strips. They print three to a page, for a total of twelve printable strips.
Then laminate the strips if you’d like to. Or place them in dry erase pockets. Or leave them as is. That’s really up to you.

How to Use the Fine Motor Strips
I like printables that can be used a variety of ways. This means more opportunities for playful learning with just one printable.
So I’m happy to say that these free printable Easter strips fit that bill.
Use them as cutting strips.
Allow the kids to cut along the dotted lines, from the Easter eggs to the baskets.
This can be done independently, or you can use it as a way to teach correct scissor use. That just depends on the needs of the individual kids.

Use them as tracing strips.
This can be done with a variety of writing utensils.
Let the children use pens, pencils, or markers to trace the paths from eggs to baskets.
Include other materials, like dot markers or cotton swabs dipped in paint, if you’d like to.
The children can even use their own fingerprints. Have them press a fingertip into a washable ink pad. Then they press their fingers along the dotted line.
Laminate the strips or place them in dry erase pockets. Then hand the children dry erase markers for tracing the lines.
Pair the strips with loose parts.
Have the children trace over the lines using small loose parts.
We love mini erasers, so that’s what we used first. Easter-themed erasers were fun to pair with the free printable Easter strips. But you can use any type, really.
Other small parts would work just as well! Consider using glass gems, old bottle tops, buttons, acorns, etc.

Pair with sensory writing trays.
The Easter fine motor strips are also perfect with sensory writing trays!
Add you favorite material (sand, sugar, sprinkles, etc.) to a shallow tray to create a sensory writing experience.
Then use the free printable Easter cards as pattern prompts for the kids as they’re writing.
Encourage the children to recreate the pattern in the sensory tray. They can write in the sensory material using their fingers, paintbrushes, or other simple tools.
