Are you a fan of spring? I have to admit, fall is my favorite season. But I still have a lot of love for spring, too!
There’s something about the colors coming back to the trees, and the warmer weather is always nice after a long winter. Not sure how I feel about all the pollen though.
As with every change of season, spring brings lots of opportunities to learn and create in preschool. Drawing kids’ attention to the trees changing helps them learn about different aspects of each season.
That’s where the spring tree art comes in! The children can make their observations . . . and then create what they’re seeing around them.
Spring Tree Crafts
Each of the ideas that you’ll read about below give the kids the chance to be creative! And isn’t the the point of art and crafts in preschool? YES!
In addition to the creative aspect, these tree crafts allow the children to practice some important early learning skills. Here are just a few of the concepts the kids are exploring as they make spring trees:
- Fine motor skills
- Color identification
- Following multi-step directions
- Listening skills
- Early science concepts
That list isn’t exhaustive, by any means. What are some other early learning skills your students work on with crafts?
