I always find that preschoolers really love getting to celebrate Easter. There are bright colors, Easter bunnies, colorful eggs, and sweet treats! What’s not to love?! It’s really no surprise the kids love this holiday.

So, why not create some discovery jars with all of the fun things that remind us of Easter? I’ve created a list of some of my absolute favorite Easter sensory bottles for you to check out. Enjoy!

You could also guide the students in making their own sensory bottles, each on a slightly smaller scale. Then, instead of filling their bunny bag Easter craft with candy this year, let the kids fill it with their sensory jar creations!

With the find the bunny rice sensory bottle, kids will not only get to search for the hidden bunny, but they can also use it as a shaker as the bunny “hops” throughout the bottle!

Your students will have an “eggcellent” time discovering how the Easter eggs seem to float in thin air inside the Easter eggs mason jar. And the addition of the pluck light makes it just that much more fun!

Learning with Easter Discovery Bottles

Students will love getting to bring Easter to life this spring by creating some of these discovery bottles with you! And not to mention all of the wonderful learning opportunities hidden within a simple sensory bottle.

You read that right! Easter sensory bottles may seem like just fun and games, but they’re also great learning tools! Here are just a few ways children can learn with sensory bottles:

  • Descriptive vocabulary
  • Volume
  • Sink versus float
  • Measurement
  • Sensory exploration (especially sight)
  • Counting
  • Fine motor skills
  • Color identification

And that’s just to name a few. The opportunities for learning and engagement are really endless!

Easter Sensory Bottle Materials

So, now you have some great sensory bottle ideas for your class this Easter. But don’t feel obligated to choose just one idea and stick with it. You can always pick and choose what you want to go in your sensory bottles.

Or better yet, ask your students what should be used to create an Easter sensory bottle. This can be a great way to spark conversation in the classroom and you might be surprised with just how creative they get!

And if the kids hit a creative roadblock, here are some materials to consider including in your sensory bottle:
