Caterpillar and butterfly activities are sure to grab the kids’ attention this spring! Be sure to add these ideas to your collection of butterfly activities for preschoolers, kindergartners, and elementary-aged children.

Below you’ll find ideas that explore the butterfly life cycle, as well as caterpillar-themed activities, and some general butterfly fun. Some of these we’ve tried with rousing success, while others are on our butterfly to-do list.

Let’s start with some butterfly activities that focus on the life cycle of the insect. Metamorphosis is such an interesting concept for kids! Pair these ideas with some non-fiction books and you’re all set.
