You can really pair the numbered frogs with a whole host of manipulatives and learning tools! It just depends on what you’re practicing with the kids and what you have on-hand.

Once your supplies are gathered, it’s time to prep the frogs. Here’s what to do:
- First, save the printable to your computer.
- Then print out as many copies as you’d like.
- After that, cut the individual frog numbers apart.
- Finally, laminate all of the numbers.
And now you are ready to go!
How to Use the Frog Calendar Numbers
I do call these calendar numbers for a reason! The first way to use them is right there in the name. Integrate the frog numbers into your classroom calendar.
You can use the frog number printable with traditional classroom calendars, pocket chart calendars, and linear calendars. They’re 3-inch squares, so make sure that’s the right size for your calendar needs. If not, adjust your printer settings to make them smaller or larger.

Place them in your calendar just as a reference for you and the kids. Or use them during circle time or calendar time, depending on your preferences and your students’ needs. Encourage the kids to point and count along with the numbers, predicting the next number in the sequence.
You can even pair the frog calendar numbers with another set of number cards in your calendar. That gives the kids the chance to practice patterning, as well. Again, that’s totally up to you and what works best in your classroom!
Additional Ways to Use Frog Number Cards with Kids
The numbered frogs are also great tools for whole group math, small group math, and even your math center! Here are some more ways to use them:
- Challenge the kids to put the numbers in order from 0 to 35 and back again. Break it up into smaller chunks of numbers as needed.

- Play a simple memory grid game with 2 sets of the frog calendar numbers.
- Pair the number cards with a simple sensory writing tray. Encourage the children to practice number writing, using the frog numbers as a reference.
- Use the frog numbers with my spring calendar numbers. Have the kids use the different images as a way to practice simple and complex patterning.

- Teach and practice one-to-one correspondence by having the children place the correct number of manipulatives next to each numbered frog.
Those are just a few extra ways to use the frog calendar numbers. You and your students can come up with even more ideas, I’m sure!
