What a fun collection of Star Wars activities to add to your holiday activities for preschoolers! Of course, these ideas aren’t just for preschoolers. Other kids (and adults!) who love Star Wars are sure to get a kick out them.
These Star Wars Day activities are perfect for those celebrating May the 4th! But I can tell you from experience that they’re just as fun year-round too.
You’ll find science, sensory, and math May the 4th activities below. There are also crafty ideas, and even a few Star Wars themed treats to share with the kids.

“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. . .” (More accurately, years ago in a small town in the States . . .) My son fell in love with Star Wars. I knew it would happen, so I wasn’t taken by surprise that he fell for the much-loved classic movies.
He comes by his geekiness honestly. Although I must admit that he loves the series more than I do (when I was younger I was much more of a . . . *gasp!* . . . Trekkie).
In addition to my son, I’ve had a variety of students who love Star Wars. Even if the preschoolers hadn’t seen the movies, their parents’ interests led to many a Star Wars discussion in my classroom. So between my son and my students, I’ve tried a ton of May the 4th activities!
Why Celebrate May the 4th With Kids?
As I mentioned above, there are so many kids (of all ages!) who really enjoy Star Wars, even if they haven’t seen the films yet. And I love incorporating children’s interests into my lesson plans, as well as into our home life.
Once I noticed my son and many of my students were into Star Wars, I started planning a variety of Star Wars activities for them. Since young children are learning all the time, I knew they’d be getting a ton of benefits out of the ideas I planned. And kids are even more engaged with learning activities based off of their interests!

Plus, there’s nothing wrong with planning activities “just” because they’re fun for you and the kids! Life is meant to have elements of fun – yes, even school. Especially school, in my opinion. It’s another level of added engagement and excitement, and it shows the kids you see them; that their interests are important to you.
