Fall Art for Preschoolers
If you’re a regular reader of Fun-A-Day, you already know I am a big fan of process art.
We still do some crafts and such, of course, but the bulk of our art is focused in on the process (rather than the product).
Now that the weather has gotten cooler and the leaves have started changing color, I was inspired to focus in on process art ideas that you can use this fall.
While I chose to highlight art ideas that preschoolers would enjoy, I am positive that children of all ages will get a kick out of these projects.
Autumn Art Ideas Using Natural Materials
Below are some ideas for incorporating natural materials into your fall artwork with the kids.

Have the children work together to create a collaborative acorn painting canvas while exploring different art techniques.
If you take a trip to the farm, bring back some corn for this corn painting activity.
Make colored corn mosaic art with dyed corn kernels. These turn out so well no matter what direction the kids take it.
Add a scented, literacy twist to a classic when making spicy apple art for kids.
Combine art and science with Fantastic Fun and Learning’s falling leaf art idea.
Use sweet potatoes for stamping fun like Sunny Day Family.
Grab some leaves and make Homegrown Friends’ simple leaf collages with your preschoolers.
Use a variety of fall nature to create an autumn roll painting like Still Playing School.
This sensory autumn art project using crumbled leaves from Mosswood Connections will entice the kids’ sense of touch.
I love how A Little Pinch of Perfect included egg cartons and natural materials in this fall leaf art activity.
Would your kids get a kick out of these monster leaf puppets from Messy Little Monster?
Buggy and Buddy’s decorating pine cones is a must during the fall, in my opinion!
These leaf doodles from The Artful Parent are just gorgeous!
Fun at Home with Kids put together a lovely kid-made fall nature wreath. I can see making one together for the classroom door.
You can’t make fall art without painting with pine cones like No Time for Flash Cards did. I’m sure the preschoolers would agree with me on that.
Use multiple natural materials to make The Ladybirds’ Adventures’ autumn process art.
