These spring process art ideas are sure to inspire you and the kids! The children can express themselves through process art while having a blast this spring.

If you’re a regular reader of Fun-A-Day, you know how much I love process art. There are so many benefits to focusing on the process rather than the product. But, more often than not, the final product ends up being pretty great too!
As spring approaches, I’m sure you’re beginning to think of all the great springtime preschool themes you’ll get to explore with your students. And I think every theme deserves a good art activity!
Spring Process Art
Here are a few spring process art activities I love and just had to share with you all:

Combine art and science as you guide students through making coffee filter art flowers.
The scented shaving cream art will give students the opportunity to experience vibrant floral scents and bright colors.
Create some beautiful tissue paper stained glass to decorate your classroom windows this spring.
Switch it up this springtime as your students put aside the paintbrushes and enjoy painting with flowers.

Children will surprise you with their creativity when you present them with an invitation to create with spring colors!
Kids will love “rolling” into spring with the rainbow marble painting process art.
Change it up your sand art this spring by drawing outside with spring-colored sand!
Make a splash this spring by creating sidewalk chalk art in puddles!

Explore science concepts like the water cycle, weather, and even gravity with the rain cloud gravity painting for kids.
Spring is the perfect time to take kids out into nature and forage for the materials needed to make their very own nature paintbrushes.
The children will love getting to use one of their favorite healthy snacks to create the citrus printing process art for kids.
The final product may be temporary, but students are sure to love the process of making salty rainbows!

Kids will have a blast making rainbows in a frame using clear packing tape.
The decorated tree branch spring art allows kids to turn materials found on a nature walk into beautiful works of art.
Let the kids experience a new way of making spring process art by moving with this scooter painting.
Spring Art Materials
If you’d like even more spring process art ideas, consider looking at your spring-themed materials. Pull some of those items out and let your students create as they see fit!
Here are a few materials you might consider incorporating into this season’s art activities:
- Flowers (real or fake)
- Washable tempera paint in a rainbow of colors
- Insect foam stickers
- Tissue paper
Or choose one or two art techniques that you want to teach the children. Perhaps you really want them to explore bubble wrap printing or creating with clay. Combine those techniques with colors or materials that remind you of spring.
Your springy process art project doesn’t have to be overly complicated to be meaningful, I promise! The point is to let the children really dip into their creativity.
