Sort through the weather art projects below to find a few that will work well with your students. Then be sure to add them to your master list of art projects for kids!

From sunshine to thunderstorms, and everything in between, this list is jam-packed with art ideas for any weather you can think of! These art ideas would be great for a weather theme, when teaching about the four seasons, or just to represent the day’s weather forecast.

The weather art activities are a great way for children to express creativity, practice early classroom skills, and learn all about the weather.

We adults should really take a cue from the kids when it comes to the weather. Children have an innate ability to see the “bright side” and be excited about any type of weather! Rainy day? Dance in the rain! Snowy day? Let’s go sleigh riding! Breezy day? Let’s fly kites! Sunny day? The opportunities are endless!

So, with that in mind, I’m sure the kids will be equally excited about these weather art ideas!

What Are Kids Learning with Weather Art Ideas?

Often, when we think of young children at school, we think of crayons, tiny scissors, too much liquid glue, and paint splatters. In other words, we often associate the beginnings of education with art. And for good reason! Art is arguably the best outlet for kids to express their feelings, explore their imaginations, and spark creativity.

On top of all of those benefits, art is a tool to aid in learning and skill-building. The weather-themed art ideas below are no exception.

  • Color theory
  • Color identification
  • Problem solving
  • Decision making

This list is just the first few things to come to mind. But the benefits are really countless. Art is also a great way to reinforce and build on learning objectives.
